Eagles sign Kamar Aiken to one year deal
Wednesday marks the beginning of training camp for the defending Super Bowl champs. All players will be reporting to the Nova Care Complex as the team prepares for the preseason. While there will be plenty to keep an eye on the field the birds made a splash off the field as the Eagles sign Kamar Aiken to a one year deal. Aiken has spent time with the Baltimore Ravens, New England Patriots, Buffalo Bills and Indianapolis Colts.

Former Raven lands in Philly
Aiken was in Baltimore when Joe Douglas was there. Aikens best season came during the 2015 season. The former UCF Knight caught 75 passes for 944 yards and five touchdowns all of which are career highs. Aiken will look to find a home with the defending champs as Philly marks his fifth team.
Can Aiken make an impact?
Aiken is facing an uphill battle. He joins one of the deepest receiving units in the league. Earlier in the offseason, the team added Markus Wheaton as well. While difficult Aiken should have the chance to compete for the fourth or fifth spot on the receiving depth chart. Now we know Alshon Jeffery, Nelson Agholor, Mike Wallace and Mack Hollins are locks to make the roster so there may only be one or two more spots open. If the Eagles keep Nate Sudfeld receiver could be a position the Eagles look to go thin.

Training camp underway
As stated earlier Training camp is underway so the signing comes at a perfect time. Aiken will have a few weeks to get adjusted to the playbook. If Aiken is able to impress he could nail down a roster spot. Overall the signing is low-risk high reward. Aiken is still just 29 and at 6’2 215 pounds has good size and speed.
