Phillies trade for slugger Bour
The Philadelphia Phillies trade for Florida Marlins slugger Justin Bour for minor league left-handed pitcher Mckenzie Mills and cash considerations. Bour is batting .227 with 19 home runs and 54 RBI.
Trading for Bour gives the Phillies seven players with 15 or more home runs.

Where does Bour fit in with the Fightin Phils?
A very interesting trade for the Phillies, as Bour, definitely can improve the lineup but where does he play? You could platoon Bour and Carlos Santana at first base. As a result, Bour plays against right-handed pitchers and Santana against lefties. However, we will have to wait and see what manager Gabe Kapler decides to do in the coming days with the lineup.
Phillies questioning what players they have adding Bour?
The Phillies added Bour for the hope and high possibility of a playoff run. Which hasn’t happened in Philadelphia in seven long years. Bours trade and most of the recent moves remind me of the moves the Phillies made back in 2008. For example, when the team traded for Matt Stairs no one saw it as a major trade but turned out perfectly for Phillies.
The Phillies adding Bour is a solid move that only improves the bolstered lineup they already have. Providing solid power from the left side of the batter’s box while from a player under team control for another few years. Above all else thank you Miami Marlins for getting the Phillies that much closer to the playoffs and hopefully their first World Series appearance in nine years.
Last, of all tell me your thoughts below in the comments! Does Bour fit in with the current Phillies group? Does he bat his way into the lineup over Santana? Only time will tell, let’s all sit back and watch the Phillies continue to surprise everyone and play must-see baseball!
