Golden Tate shines in Eagles 28-13 victory

Tate shined in Eagles Monday night victory

On a December night in South Philadelphia, the Eagles gutted out a 28-13 victory over the Washington Redskins. A team that has struggled offensively the last few weeks scored the most points in a game since week six. Last night Golden Tate shined as he found the end zone for the first time with his new team.  As the Eagles are in the midst of the final stretch of the season can this be the game that gets Tate going?

The Worm

It didn’t take Tate long to find the end zone in this one. On the Eagles, first drive of the game having made it into the red zone after scrambling around Carson Wentz found the former Lion in the back of the end zone. There was excellent coverage on the play as Greg Strowman nearly knocked it away but a laser by Wentz got the job done. Following the touchdown, Tate broke out a classic dance in the worm.

This is what Eagles fans imagined when the team sent a third rounder to Detroit. Tate finished the night with seven catches for 85 yards a touchdown and two-point conversion. The catches yards and touchdown were all his highest totals since joining the team.

Rematch deep in the heart of Texas

With the Redskins seemingly free falling the Eagles season is now at a crossroads. If the Eagles beat Dallas they will be in first place with three games to play. A loss and Dallas all but wraps up the division. This Cowboys defense has been flexing its muscles as of late. They have won four straight games allowing just 18 points per game. This includes shutting down MVP frontrunner Drew Brees and company in a 13-10 victory over the Saints.

The last time these teams met the Eagles offense just couldn’t make enough big plays falling 27-20. Will the Eagles leave Dallas in first place? Tate shined against the Cowboys earlier this season. They will need another big game from him this time around.
